01) What time is check-in and checkout?

Check-in at our Honduras luxury resorts is 2:00pm and checkout is 12:00pm. 

02) Does the hotel offer high-speed Internet access?

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the lobby and in the restaurant.

03) Does the hotel have a fitness center?

The Lodge does not have a gym, but the Lodge’s trails provide wonderful hiking terrain.

04) Do you have a pool?

Yes we have a pool located in the gardens.

05) Do you have a spa?

We do not have a spa at the Lodge, however we do offer in-room massages. Contact concierge to schedule an appointment. A 60 minutes massage is $60 USD.

06) Does the Lodge offer children’s activities? Is there babysitting service available?

The Lodge offers activities for children including visits to the Butterfly Farm, Iguana House and Serpentarium. The Night Hike is also popular with families with children, where guides point out night creatures and species not seen during the day. The Lodge does offer babysitting upon request, subject to availability.

Pets are not allowed at the Lodge.

08) Do you have a conference center? How do I book a meeting?

The restaurant is open daily from 6:00am to 10:00pm, with no specific times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast is included in the rates, unless otherwise stated by a specific special promotion or package.

11) Is the property wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately the property is not wheelchair accessible. Pebble pathways connect the cabins with the rest of the property, and each cabin requires climbing a set of stairs (about 5 steps).

01) Where is the Lodge at Pico Bonito located? How do we get there?

The Lodge at Pico Bonito is located in La Ceiba, Honduras. Getting to the Lodge is easy. From most U.S. cities you can leave home in the morning and enjoy a late lunch with a Keel-billed Toucan.

San Pedro Sula is the most common entry into Honduras for staying at The Lodge. Non-stop flights are available from Atlanta, Houston, Miami and New York City. One-stop connections are available from most major European cities. (Transfers are easily arranged from Roatan and Tegucigalpa, Honduras's other international airports.)

From San Pedro Sula, guests take either: a) a private van for the 2.5 hour drive to The Lodge or b) a 30-minute commuter flight to La Ceiba where free transfer is provided. The Lodge is happy to help make in-country travel arrangements for its guests.

02) Does the Lodge provide transportation to/from the airport? How much does it cost?

Complimentary transfers to and from La Ceiba airport are provided by The Lodge at Pico Bonito, 20 minutes from the airport.

We are happy to help our guests arrange their air transportation between La Ceiba and the other Honduran airports. Approximate one-way airfares (except where noted as ferry) between La Ceiba and:

San Pedro Sula: $85    Tegucigulpa: $105    Roatan: $65    Roatan (ferry): $28 for transfer from ferry to Lodge (Ferry ticket not included)  Utila: $65   Utila (ferry): $23 for transfer from ferry to Lodge (Ferry ticket not included) 

All reservations are made on commercial airlines flying at scheduled times. Prices are subject to change. Fares are non-refundable.

The Lodge will also transport its guests by air-conditioned van from The Lodge and the San Pedro Sula airport for a cost of $175 - $250 (depending on the season) per van per trip, plus tax. The van can hold up to six people with their luggage. The van ride takes about two - three hours.


03) What is the weather like at the Lodge?

Mother Nature smiles on The Lodge at Pico Bonito.

The most common weather at The Lodge is perfect for a rainforest destination: clear most of the day with the chance of an afternoon or evening shower.

May and June are the drier months with temperature averaging 90°F (32°C) degrees during the day and a pleasant 75°F (24°C) at night. October and November are the rainier months with temperatures a little cooler, averaging 80°F (27°C) degrees during the day and 65°F (18°C) at night.

Rainfall gradually decreases and temperatures gradually increase from December through May. From June through November, rainfall gradually increases and temperatures gradually decrease.

04) Is traveling to the Lodge at Pico Bonito safe?

While Honduras is far from perfect, it remains 100% the tropical paradise with which you will fall in love. You are going to find Honduras to be a gentle and easy goingFurthermore, at Pico Bonito we take all measures to ensure all guests feel safe and secure. 


01) How many people can stay in a room?

Rooms with a king bed accommodate up to 2 people, while cabins with two queen beds can accommodate up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Rates are based on single- or double- occupancy, so an extra person fee of $40-60 USD (depending on season) will apply. Children 11 years and under stay free if sharing cabin with parents.

02) What is the difference between room types?

Cabins are very similar in size (415 square feet), décor, and amenities. Both Standard cabins are outfitted with two queen or full beds. The difference between the Standard and Standard Plus cabins is that Standard Plus cabins are air-conditioned. Superior Cabins have a king bed and are air-conditioned. A select number of cabins have interior doors that connect two rooms.

February and March are the best times for birding as it is nesting season.

Tours can be arranged once at the hotel through concierge. Tours need to be booked the day before.

03) Is white-water rafting for children?

Children 8 years and older can participate in white water rafting as long as they are accompanied by their parents.
